I actually disable the autoplay to protect my system from viruses. You may have several times connected a USB drive or inserted a CD/DVD, and observed that they directly open the windows explorer showing the contents of files in USB or CD/DVD. If that USB drive or CD/DVD contains a virus it will affect the system. So, therefore, its much better to disable Autoplay and first check the contents or files. To do this you can connect the USB drive or insert CD/DVD, and before double-clicking in the windows explorer, you can use the command prompt to check for any unwanted or unwarranted files and then open the USB drive in the Windows Explorer.
